BIRTH SUPPORT + DOULA CARE
Our birthing experiences + stories will shape and impact each of us for the rest of our lives. Babies are born, but so are the parents simultaneously. At Mother Willow, an inclusive + family centered approach to providing support care is an essential element to my practice. No matter how your unique childbirth experience looks + unfolds, I will be there to provide experienced + compassionate guidance and support as you each navigate through this transformative journey.
PRENATAL CARE
During your prenatal experience, I will meet with you in the comfort of your home (or comfortable public setting) to provide visits that are tailored to your unique needs + desires. In between these meetings I am always available by phone, text and email. Families are welcome to borrow books & DVDs from the lending library during this time as well. If clients would like to attend classes & workshops that I facilitate, you will be eligible for a discount.
Your visits can include:

Unbiased assistance navigating your prenatal care and journey.

Hands-on prenatal education (that includes learning tools for comfort, coping and relaxation).

Familiarizing me with your needs, desires and expectations.

Allows time for discussing questions, concerns and addressing fears.

Providing you with easy exercises and activities that support you on your journey.

Nurturing, enriching and reassuring support.

Birth preparation guidance/aid that can include cooking, birth plans, pampering, henna, natural birth/postpartum care tools, and more.
BIRTH + LABOUR
As you near the end of your pregnancy journey I will become available to attend your birth at any time. When the moment comes, I will join you at your home to support you (and your partner) through your labour journey. I will utilize both emotional and physical options of care to support your experience. This can include heat therapy, massage, encouragement, acupressure, nourishment (teas, water, broth) and more. I can help you determine when to call in the rest of your birth team or head to the hospital. I will remain with you throughout your entire labour and help you feel confident in this experience (however that journey unfolds for you). The comfort of having an experienced childbirth guide at your side can be reassuring and alleviate stress for both the labouring individual and their partner. As your Doula I will also help keep your birthing space attended too.
POSTPARTUM
After your birth I will remain with you for up to 4 hours. During this time I will help you get settled in, assist you with feeding, prepare some food/snacks. I will also busy myself with cleaning or other tasks, and allow you and your partner bonding time as a new family. I will leave when you feel confident and comfortably tucked in to rest. In the days and weeks following birth I will be available to provide informational, emotional and physical support. I can help answer questions and aid you in this transition. I will provide you with a warm meal, feeding support, along with some light cleaning. I also provide some postpartum pampering for clients that wish to receive it. I am available for extended and more in depth postpartum support for an additional fee. During your postpartum journey I am available by phone, text and email for up to one year postpartum.
